Looking for a smith who will machine cylinders for moon clips

Hey guys/girls, I'm prepping my Ruger GP100 Match Champion for competition and am looking for a smith who will do a good job machining my cylinder for moon clips. Any recommendations? Dlask told me yes but would like to hear personal recommendations as well thanks.

I already have the moon clips and brass.
 
Talk to Clarence at BCM (BumblBee Custom Machine) in Prince George, he should be able to advise you as to the cost and practicality of your project. He's worked on a number of guns for me, his workmanship is second to none in my opinion, and usually his turnaround time is fairly quick. 250-649-6993

That said, and I'd have no apprehension in sending a gun to Dlask either.

AIRCAV has done several (a couple of 686's and a 629 that I have seen). Very nice work. Was going to get him to do my 2-1/2" 686 but I have 20 speedloaders and a boat load of mixed brass I don't feel like separating out.

Since you are in Vancouver, I'd contact Murray Charlton (h ttp://murraycharltonenterprises.com/); he is Vancouver Island and he is the authorized S&W warranty representative, so I'd assume he can easily work on your Ruger.
I have used him in the past and his work is top notch.
 
May i ask why? - I find bubberized compIII speed loaders just as fast and you dont have to modify the gun - if you shoot idpa you can still shoot ssr at 105 PF as opposed to esr at 165 pf

I don't know much (anything) about revolvers but when i watch videos isn't Jerry Miculek using speed loaders? Seems like if moon clips were faster he'd use them?

When he's using the 627 and 625 he uses moon clips. Jerry could reload out of a bucket wearing hockey gloves and he'd still beat 99% of the shooters who walk the earth..
 
I went with moonclips because I wanted to use my 629 for ipsc. With the moonclip you always get your brass back because it is attached to the moonclip. I was using speedloaders for plinking at the range. They work fine for that purpose.

I actually did contact Murray a few weeks ago and no he will not work on it. He says he doesn't have the whatever machine set up for it. Not sure if he meant all Ruger GP100s or just mine or what.
