Any reccomendations on a 3x9 30mm or larger lens.
I'ts for my tactical .22 I'd like it to be as light and compact as possible, red or green optics is a bonus. I've seen alot of tactical scopes but they are 24mm.
I'm use to my 10x40 50mm tasco on my BTVS. But I'd like something quicker to aim though.
Thanks Andrew

I could put my tasco 6x24 42mm scope on it, but I think it would be a little big and heavy. However I could reach out the touch something at 24x.

Got a Bushnell 10X 3200 Mil-dot ant it is very clear, the crosshair are thick a bit for long range work but for the price you can not go wrong... JP.

I've shot popcans at 200 yds. On youtube there are guys shooting my BTVS .22 up to 400yds hitting a two foot plate every shot.
If you know your math, a .22 at 200 yds is like shooting a 308 at 440 yds. Same bullet dynamics. At 200 yds the 22 bullet drops a masive 55"

That's not really a description of tactics, but it serves the purpose of determining what you need in a scope. A fixed 4xis more than enough for more than twice the range you are talking about. Money not wasted on excessive magnification and gadgetry and a "tacticool" look is money that can be spent on build quality, or extra ammunition. Careful practise does more for accuracy than a fancy scope does.

I totally understand. I can't believe peiple put $1000-3000 scopes on a gun that costs $300-600 bucks! However I don't understand people saying 1x4 power is good for up to 100 yds. When I shoot 100 yds or more, I want to be able to see my bullet holes. At 200 yds even my 6x24 has abit of trouble with that, so I have a 10x40 w/ 3x booster.
Now all of this is for my long distance gun. I now have a AR mossberg and will be shooting 50 yds max. I would like something good for duelling tree, gong shooting and run n shoot skills.
That being said, I'd like something compact, has magnification and an objective larger than 24mm.
My bushnell 3x9 is great but is a $50 canadain tire special that is 15 years old.
I have been looking at the nikon prostaff 2 rimfire 150. Haven't seen anyone carry it in or near Calgary.
Thanks Andrew
