I really like the su-16 but it doesn't have a threaded barrel. I also like the savage axis but that isn't threaded either.
So what .223 NR rifles come threaded?

Are you looking for bolt or semi? Im sure you could have the rifle of your choice threaded by a good gunsmith, like tiriaq said.

I can buy my friends su-16 for $700 but it needs to be threaded. Like it because it folds and is semi auto.
I can buy a savage axis for $320 and also needs threaded. Like the cost but it's bolt action.
Is there any other rifle I should be looking at?

I'm a wimp and use plugs and muffs and when I shoot indoors at the range, my ears still ring. I'm only 110lbs and 5 feet tall so the recoil isn't bad but if I was to shoot a semi auto, by my third shot it would be sprarying, not shooting. Something like What happended to the wife of aerosmiths band member on Sons of Guns!
lol I loved the look on his face!

A heavy barrel will absorb recoil as well, and possibly aid accuracy. Try to find a heavy bbl bolt action and you'll outshoot that semi auto.

I will also say that if it is recoil sensitivity you need to learn proper technique, not comensate with more gadgets. Recoil of a .223 is not hard to deal with with proper fitting of the stock, and a proper shooting position. Adding a muzzle brake will make the noise worse, which can cause a serious flinch, and will make practicing any technique go to sh*t pretty quick.

Just as an example my GF can shoot my .243 without issue, but when my father in law who is much taller and heavier tries it he complains. He can shoot a lot bigger guns without issue, but the stock on that .243 is too short for him, and the short barrel makes it sound louder.

i have a levang 6 port compensator that directs noise foreward, hopeing the kids will like shooting the mini-14 with out jumping at the muzzle crack
