with the up coming turkey season id like to see if there would be anyone in the renfrew county/ottawa valley area to take me out for a hunt

definitely looking to get more experience in this aspect, reading and attempting to practice calls only does me so much, definitely need more mouth call practice, can get noise out of my mouth call, but seems way to high pitched..not sure what else I can do

I think im going to try and scout for some flocks this up coming weekend and to knock on some doors

was out last year with a buddy, didnt connect but was a great experience, unfortunately he has left for university

if anyone would be willing to help me....It would be much appreciated

also I am sorry if this is the wrong forum to be posting in

while im here, does anyone know how to attach a stock front fibre optic sight on a mossberg 500, last year while patterning for turkey the recoil threw the sight off a bit, so i got some warranty replacements. do they just "clip" on?

thanks again everyone

Mike

Where abouts are you in the valley? I'm on the shore of the St-Lawrence river between Cornwall and the Quebec border. Lots of turkeys in the area. Big chunk of crown land near me as well.

I am willing to come out your way for a day or two... If you have land to hunt that has turkey on it... You can be the trigger man... My fee is we have to have a good time and a few beer... Also a steak... Lol

Why dont you two work together and I can come up and call for both of you... I have all of the gear...you hunt em with me once then you won't need me next year... :)..

Have you been succesful bud?... We should chase 'em together sometime...

Get my turkey every spring for the last 5 years. I had 3 turkeys less than 10 feet from me last spring. Ya gotta love those ghillie suits. :ninja: Last year, 9.5" beard, 7/8" spur, 22.5 lbs and sealed the deal at 20 feet. Not a monster but good eating. I only ever take 1 in the spring. I'm usually too busy to get out in the fall. Tons of work and concentrating on mooses.. lol. Always open to go for a hunt. PM me when you want to get out. Mostly Saturday afternoons, Sundays or Mondays.

Not much of a drinker, but a good breakfast after the hunt always fills the hole. Mitch's diner is less than 5 mins from a nice piece of crown land.

Lol... Sounds like you don't need my help... Cool... Maybe we can do brunch when season hits...

Seriously though... You gotta take your two...lol

Here's my backyard last spring. Unfortunately, my wife won't let me hunt there.
