So I’m looking at buying a Ruger 10/22 just for plinking. I was looking at the Talo distributor tactical semi auto model 11128. Only thing I don’t like is it says in the description the barrel is locked to the receiver with a unique two screw v-lock system? Does this mean the barrel won’t be interchangeable with an aftermarket barrel? Would the the takedown model be a better option for customizing ?

I cant find the 11128 online, but if its the tactical style looking one, go look at one in person before buying. they are very plasticy. With all the aftermarket options out there you'd be better off buying a basic one and upgrading it from there.

If looking at the 10/22's, look for an older used model. They were built better in the past, and you can dress it up with whatever aftermarket options you desire to get your finished rifle goal. I too, dislike the plastic on the new ones...very cheap!
The press fit barrel locked in with the v-block and two screws is simple and effective, and can be extremely accurate. No worries there! Some great barrels out there as well as trigger groups.
These are great little rifles and are extremely fun! Best of luck!

If looking for higher end rifles based on the 10/22 design, you can look at Magnum Research, Volquartsen or AMT.
