Hi guys I've had a second gen SUB 2000 for a while now (2 years?) and I am thinking I would like to mount a Red Dot on it with a quick release or thumb-screw mount. I'm not interested in any of those gimmicky folding mounts, and don't really care if it doesn't co-witness with the iron sights (I don't want to remove the iron sights)

I've got some cabela's gift card money burning a hole in my pocket and was thinking about a Vortex Strikefire II but again, I would like to have a quick-release or thumb-screw mount.

I am just curious if anyone is using a setup along these lines and what products are you using?

Thanks!

A Burris Fastfire in an American Defence rail mount mounts and dismounts quickly, and co-witnesses.
You can dismount and put it on the bottom rail when folded.
Costs half as much as the rifle though.

I would have a look at the Holosun 515cu, comes with high and low mounts, with quick release, gets excellent reviews, retails for around $400, although that being said, there is one on the EE right now for $325 which imho is a smokin deal on a quality optic.
Well worth a look
