Looking for advice on med-long scope w/turrents?

Hi there

I have a tikka t-3 300win and am looking to possible purchase a scope
-any reccommendations for a scope to shoot to 500-600 yards?
Was thinking of something with turrents 4-16 power is 6-24 overkill?
Looking at falcon optics or ziess conquest series?
Will a 1 inch tube give me enough adjustment?
Will a standard scope with bdc suffice?

I don't think 6-24 is overkill. I have a sightron 8-32 on my 6mm BR (and usually only don't get any further than 300 yds.....yet) and really like it so far. http://www.sightron.com/index.php?action=view_document&did=1201816362&cat_id=6&id=171
I'm no expert, but I'm sure that with a 300win you won't have to worry about not having enough adjustment shooting out to 600 yards........with any scope.

I have two 4.5-14x50 Conquests, and two 6.5-20x50 Conquests, and I am very happy with them. They track precisely, and the optics are very good for the price.

Sightron SIII series are great. Lots of adjustment, excellent glass. I have a 6-24x50, it has something like 100 MOA of adjustment. It was about $900. Target turrets, re-settable zero, 30mm tube. One inch tubes don't have enough adjustment, besides after having spent a boat load of money in this sport, I am now of the buy once and get what you want philosophy, instead of buying twice because you have to upgrade, or because you settled for second choice to begin with.
