Looking for advice on SKS's

I had one, they feel indestructible thats for sure. Never put one down the pipe of mine (trading it right now actually for a sxs stage coach 12) but shot a friends and they have a beautiful little to no recoil (fun great shooter) its nice shooting something thats bigger than a .22 and plink with it yeh know?

If I was going to modify a non-restricted rifle gun to accept and use standard AK mags I'd start with a .308 cal Valmet Hunter. You end up with a lot nicer gun!

Find a good, clean SKS - get the sights set up to your needs/wants, buy three (or four) cases of milsurp ammo and in the event of a SHTF scenario, or even a break down of civil order (remember the vanishing police after Hurricane Katrina) you'll be equipped and able to deal with more than 99.99% of the people on your street. Don't forget to practise, but never shoot your last crate of ammo without buying your next one first.
