Looking for aftermarket grips for NZ85B

I recently picked up a Norinco cz75 clone on sale. Great value. Shoots far better than I do and built like a brick outhouse. The finish is pretty mediocre but great pistol at the price point.

However, the grips are terrible. I had ordered a pair of off brand cz75 g10 grips online but returned then as seemed like they would take a bunch of fitting to work right. Didn't match the the backstrap profile, sat crooked, interfered with magazine release.

I know there's a bunch of these pistols around. Looking for anyone to share what's worked well, as I assume many have ditched the nasty factory grips.

Thanks!

I have the Hogue CZ-75, TZ-75 P-9 Rubber Wraparound w/ Finger Grooves on my NZ85B.
My hands are fairly big, and this grip works just right for me.

Thanks for that, had heard that the Hogue wraparounds worked, but unfortunately the DA trigger is a bit of a loooong reach for my stubby fingers, so was hoping to go a bit thinner. Will look for some alternative Hogues.

Some manufactures also make grips for the tanfoglio/eaa witness which are the correct profile for the nz85b. I had a set of nice wood Hogue grips on mine but switched to the rubber wrap around grips.

So generally speaking cz75 grips aren't quite a perfect fit and I should be looking for Witness grips from the start?
I'd expect that makes my hunt a little more tricky/expensive, but appreciate the info, saves me a ton of hassle.

I would agree those grips are pitiful! I had used a Hogue wrap-around grip, but depending on use, it may not be allowed in the rules of some gun games. I ended up with the g-10 aggressive cut for a Shadow. It didn't take much effort to make the grips fit, with the mag release being the main issue as you will need to move the hole. Some 2 part epoxy can be used if needed to create an edge for the frame. After that, it still won't be a Shadow, but it will feel closer. Be careful about how much you end up spending to upgrade it! I own some cheap guns (this one is the cheapest), but I also own a number of high-end guns. Some would say you get what you pay for, but as the price goes up, the relative betterness doesn't necessarily match the price. If you shoot a lot, the ammunition cost will easily exceed the cost of most firearms in the first year! Also, dry firing this gun excessively (or not) has shown to break the firing pin. They are tough to find and if you need to, you can modify an extended CZ-75 firing pin to make it fit. I had one break and a local shooter had his break the next day. We could only find one firing pin available in all of Canada at that time.

I have heard this about the firing pin as well. However mine has been dry fired several thousand times at home and in ipsc matches with no issues. Possibly some variation between production runs
