Whenever someone in my circle of friends has something pointy or otherwise dangerous they want to know about they seem to ask me. When I don't know I come to my buddies at CGN.

The bayo is clearly marked Carl Eickhorn and has not been sharpened.
It has a really nice feel in the hand and would make a handy tool or weapon on it's own. It does not have a sheath. The wood to metal fit was very good.
The bayonet clip had it's pieces but did not appear to be in working order.

The owner was told it was for a 71/84 mauser.

He got it from his dad who was a local gunsmith and apparently made 100's of perfectly good german WW2 bayos into fake nazi parade versions:eek:
I would bet he did a fair bit of bubbafiying in his time as well.

German WW1 SeitenGewehr Mod. 98/05 Butcher Knife bayonet, without scabbard $75.00 to $100.00 CDN. Used on the Mauser Gewehr 1898 rifle.
