There are so many options out there its overwhelming. I'm hoping some fellow CGN's can offer their suggestions for the best AR15 at roughly $1500.

It's use will be limited to target shooting at the range. It will also be my first gun purchase.

So far I like the look of the armalite spr mod 1 and I just started researching the Daniel defense models.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. :)

You can look at "Dream rifles" all you want, but you have to keep in mind whats "Currently available" - With the rush thats happening down south it's more a matter of - if you can find ANY AR you should buy it...

That's a good point, availability will be a limiting factor. I'm not in a big rush and I'd be fine to wait a few months if it meant getting the right one but I admittedly have no idea what kind of timeline restocking tends to run on.

You may be waiting years, not months. Last I heard, Bushmaster was at least 6 months back ordered and the vast majority of that will be in the US. When supplies were good we often waited months for stuff up in Canada, now that the frenzy in the US has stripped the entire supply chain bare chances are good we won't see much until 2014.

I think P&D Enterprises might have a few Windham Weaponry rifles left for a little over $1000, haven't heard anything bad about them.

I forget where, but I've heard that Stag is backordered for two years. If you order today you might get lucky and have it by the beginning of 2015.

I think at this point it's sort of turning into an issue of grabbing what's available and then you'll be in a position to trade later on.

Yes windham is real good and i think under priced i have 2 ov them and probly buy one more for the missis and the waranty is for canadians to life time also cant beat that

I just bought a windham from SFRC.The fit and finish is very good, and it just felt better than the Norinco.I havn't fired it yet, still waiting for my LTATT.I'm thinking of a Burris AR332,or maybe a Lucid HD7, I've been reading some good reviews on both of those optics, butI'm leaning towards the Burris.

Look into the Core15 Ar15 from wanstalls...for $1500 you can get a decent Core15.

Wanstall also have the Sig M400 for $1350. Those are nice rifles.

A friend of mine just picked up a Core15 piston model from Wanstalls. I can't get over the quality. I was expecting "entry level" build quality but that gun is a flawless, super high quality build. I would strongly recommend the Core15. I bought a new Armalite AR a couple of months back. I love the Armalite but it doesn't hold a candle to the Core15. They're the best kept secret out there.

One Sig left at Wanstalls. The other is on the way to my house! Along with a bunch of other goodies. They're great to deal with btw.
There is really not much selection lately!! Its actually awful.
