Looking for bismuth shot...

Possibly 1-1/8, but hopefully not, I have never found a load that can compete with my 1-1/4 for waterfowl, and have been using it for almost 30 years now. I just don't want to give it up, I tested and patterned a LOT of different loads in that old double, don't want to start over. If it ain't broke, don't fix it kind of thing.

Really Hodgdon hasn't discontinued production of HS7. They didn't produce it in the first place, they bought 571 from Winchester/Primex/St Marks and put a HS7 label on it so when the 571 went the HS7 died also.
They say titewad is the closest but not a direct replacement

Hi Cleftwynd, the Lyman 5th edition shotshell handbook has some decent bismuth loads for the 16ga. Like this one : 1 1/8oz. Bismuth+ AA hull+21gr Longshot+Win.209 primer+Rem.SP16 wad going 1240fps and 9,800psi pressure. on page #247.
