Hi there,
I am wondering if there is a book like Firearms for Dummies. I know some basics but would like to learn as much as possible.
Thanks.

That's basically the PAL/RPAL study manuals that cover all the basics. If there are specific areas that you are interested in ie particular model of firearms, historical firearms etc then hit up Amazon.ca

The Non-Restricted version of the Canadian Firearms Safety Course (in PDF format) can be found here: hxxp://www.firearms-safety-course.co...ety_Course.pdf

And, the Restricted course manual is here: hxxp://www.firearms-safety-course.co...ety_Course.pdf

Not sure if these are the current manuals that are being used on these courses, but they'll do for what you are looking for. When you go for the courses, buy the latest versions then.

You will also need the free version of Adobe Reader to view these books on your computer - hxxp://get.adobe.com/reader/

This should get you started, Katkris - happy reading, and welcome to the sport!

If you can find them (coz I think they're out-of-print now), any of Jack O'Connor's books on shotguns and/or rifles are great reads & full of info. Obviously they won't cover any really modern developments etc, but for basics, they are really good.

I just picked this up at chapters and it's pretty interesting:

The Total Gun Manual (Field & Stream): 335 Essential Shooting Skills by Phil Bourjaily, David Petzal

It's kind of hunting focused, but there are some good little tidbits and its a easy read.
