I've checked out a few of the sponsors site with no luck. I am trying to find a base for an older cooey model 60. I "think" it's the weaver #2, side mount but am not 100% sure.

Found a pic of the weaver #2 side mount (and found one for sale thanks to gunsaholic).

It's actually for a friend and I don't have the gun in front of me, but I'm assuming all he will need is the mount and a scope and he is good to go (no gunsmith work or extra parts required).

thanks for the help

No extra work or parts required as long as the gun was factory drilled for the weaver side mount. Some were and some weren't. He will most likely have to use the old 3/4" tubed scope though. But that keeps it vintage.

Part numbers are dead. Found this though but not sure if it will fit http://ww w.cabelas.ca/index.cfm?pageID=71&section=1195&section2=1377&ID=6323

If I remember correct, this is also looks like it would fit (or at least looks like the holes are in the right spot)

Havlins down in the US sells a sidemount for the old Mossbergs that is for 1 inch scopes. You can also adjust the scope back and forth on it. It works great on the Mossbergs. Now, I have put Weaver side mounts on old Mossbergs but it required drilling different holes in the mount which was no biggie. I'm thinking if the Weaver worked on the Mossberg, the Mossberg mount should work on the Cooey if you drill new holes in the mount. The mount from Havlins is $23.00. Brownells I think sells them as well but are a bit more. Of course there is mailing cost. I'm not sure if Havlins will sell to you though so you might have to get someone in the US to order it if you go that route.

Man thats too bad cabelas dont have the 1" anymore. Maybe you could call them and give them the old part numbers and maybe they can match them.

I am talking to someone right now who just tried a Weaver sidemount from Cabelas with high mount rings on a model 60 Cooey and reports that the scope is off center. I talked to another fellow on another forum with the same problem on a Savage. So either the holes have been drilled too high on the receiver or the new weaver mount is not quite the same as the original N2 Weaver. The original mount is different and 1/2 of the rings is built right into the mount. You could not get "high mount rings" for the original. If you needed more height you bought the next mount up like an N3. I have 2 of the old tyle N2 mounts on a Cooey 60 and 600 and the scope is centered. Below is a pic of what the original mount was like.
