i ve been watching videos online for a while now been thinking about 10mm's 1911 but i dont know why i feel like i should get the .357 for ammo availability and price? not reloading yet. maybe i should start very soon...

yes coonans are expensive but i can afford one. only one, even been thinking about selling my Remington R1 1911 .45 acp... to replace it by a coonan..
nowadays the price of .45 acp is similar to .357 i dont see any reasons to shoot 45acp over .357 magnum for about the same price.

coonans hard to find in canada.. even a little bit in united states.. anyone knows where i can find one? and how much it would cost now since the canadian dollar sucks so much?

1st option : wait for some dealer to have one in Canada.

2nd : use IRG or Prophet river to import it. anyone know how much it would cost with each one to import a firearm them?

Please feel free to share knowledge, thoughts and advices.

Thank you guys.

Keep trolling the EE... I've seen a few pop up over the past couple of months.

My cousin got one last year. He loves it. I wish I lived closer to him so I could shoot it too!!!

Wanstalls can get them. They ordered one for me. It took a while but luckily I got it before the dollar crapped the bed.

Got mine through Wanstalls, contact Gary. Not sure if they have an order in for them this year or not. Put a WTB ad on EE also, ya never know who's thinking maybe to sell theirs.

Give Wanstalls a call. They should be able to help you out. I was having the same dilemma you were and went with the Coonan first. Great gun for sure. Now I have a Colt Delta Elite and a Sig P220 on order to see what 10 mm is all about.

I was just going to suggest this as well.

I have seen this one. 2437$ Can

MSRP is 1495$ U.S > ~ 2000$ Can.

im looking for the best price possible. Ill contact Gary and see how much it could cost with them.

Anyone ever imported firearms from the U.S with a Canadian Company?

Im investigating every option possible and im not in a rush. but yeah i cant wait to have to pistol.

I find the prices at Western out of wack too but they may be willing to deal.
A compensated one at Wanstalls went for 2200 recently so a non-comp version should be right around the 2k mark.

Unless IRG has one in stock on their US sight, most importers will charge 150-200 for their service, so it is not really a value proposition. You are probably better off waiting for Wanstalls to import or try and negotiate with Western.

Thank you very much for this useful answer!

Edit : will contact Gary, i really doubt Western will negociate, lol they got that last coonan, so they are holding it hostage until someone pays the full ransom :) will give it a try though.

Timely topic, just today I had a chance to try one at out local range/gunshop; very nicely built, great looking gun, and a very nice trigger. Gun has some nice BOOM to it too! I didn't even know these things existed, so had to give it a try (shop owners gun):

Just put mine on the EE, search for my user name. Be aware, these were 2K in 2014, now that the $ has died new imports for 2016 will be nearing $2500. Lovely gun, little recoil and a joy to shoot. I just dont use it as I mainly shoot bullseye matches with my custom Colt 1911.
