I've been interested in getting a 6.5 PRC rifle and have my eye on a Fierce Carbon Edge.

Looking for feed back both on the rifle and the cartridge...Fierce guarantees 1/2 MOA out of the box, who looks after the warranty in Canada?

Does the Fierce have the same ejection issues as the Sako 85?

I like the weight of the Fierce compared to my CA Traverse, over a pound lighter.

We must have members on CGN that actually own and have some personal experiences and opinions on Fierce, no?

FWIW, my dad got a fierce last year in 338 Lapua mag, he’s not a range or bench shooter but got 2 moose with it in two years! He seams to like it! They are made in Quebec, so I guess they are taking care of warranty them self! But I did hear a lot of different things ha about them, and usually not so positive... they seem to be quite popular in Quebec and the reviews seemed to be a mix bag of happy and unhappy owners!!
I will inherit that rifle when my dad(78 now) will stop hunting... but I’m not sure I will keep it in that caliber... might sell it or get it re-barrelled in so thing else...

I’ve had a TI Edge in 7mm rem mag for 4 or 5 years now. Never had any ejecting problem with it. It didn’t seem to matter what 150 or 160 factory ammo I tried in it, it all shot really well. Even grey box Winchester 150’s were shooting moa. All guns come with a factory test target showing the 1/2 moa, or less, test group and what factory ammo that was used to achieve it. I liked it enough that I bought another TI Edge in 28 Nosler, thinking I’d like to give it a go. It still sits nib as I’ve been shooting 7mm rem mag for 25+ years and haven’t made myself get into the hyper mag.

I like the idea of the 1/2 MOA guarantee on the Fierce rifle and the weight even with the raised comb stock is quite a bit lighter than my Traverse...my Christensen Arms only came with a MOA guarantee.

I have an edge ti, ordered right when they came out with the edge. Functioning is excellent as is the accuracy. Fit and finish is not what I would expect of a full custom- is the bottom metal is slightly proud of the stock- talking like a 1/16” but it is still noticable and is something you get on every mass produced rifle. Only other complaint I have is the long scope mounting setup, unless you run a rail and rings it limits the scopes you can mount to longer scope tubes. If you can buy from a store and have it in hand to check the finishing is up to what you want I would have no doubt the rifle is accurate.

My traverse in 6.5prc averages around 3/8moa , so I really don't care if it has a moa warranty. I compared the Fierce and the Traverse before buying, and I couldn't justify the extra cost of the Fierce. And I don't consider being made n Quebec to be a positive.

I've got a Traverse, the difference with the Fierce is the +/- 1.5lbs lighter with the same style raised comb stock with the advantage to the Fierce. My Traverse (300PRC) had consistency issues new and would barely hold the MOA guarantee, most times it would but just barely...if it weren't for the awesome customer service from Corlanes I could very well have been stuck with a plus 3k dollar dud... so in my opinion the 1/2 moa guarantee is a big big plus.

If a rifle is going to have issues its been my luck lately that its the one I bought...lol...so really looking to get opinions on the Fierce Carbon Edge from those that are in the know...:)

I have never owned one.
Friend does. Not a carbon barrel though. Wouldn’t shoot, sent it back, second barrel wouldn’t shoot and fouled bad according to him, rebarreled it with a Williamson barrel. Shoots!
Ive handled it and the stock isnt as nice as a McMillan. Neither is the Christenson IMO.

I’d build one. Tikka/m70/m700 order a Mcmillan stock and good quality barrel.

I've been kicking that idea around as well, I've got all three of those action I could use as donors but also in the end they will add up to as much or more than just buying the Fierce.

Isn't the fierce carbon edge a 4500$ rifle?
I would drop the carbon barrel and build one. ~3k, less if you have a wsm donor sitting idle.

I've got a 300wsm Tikka Varmint that I don't use much anymore ...and a mid 80's SA R700 which I'm thinking would be the better choice for triggers and stocks.

But on the other hand I could sell either one of those and deduct that from the Fierce price if I so chose to do so...and then there is the fact that you will recoup a greater portion of your investment on a factory rifle than a build... a 3500.00 tikka is still a tikka.

2k would pretty up that Tikka to McMillan stocked custom barrelled 6.5 PRC and imo be better then a fierce, from what I have seen anyways.

It would cost more than 2k...a quality Carbon barrel is 12-1300.00 and a McMillian is around 1200.00 I think and then one would still have the smith cost plus a good trigger, another 600.00 or so. So if you add in the value of the original tikka you're close to the cost of the Fierce rifle complete and it comes with a life time transferable warranty...:)

Buy a Used Kimber Montana - Rebarrel it with a Good Barrel from say KS Arms - get it mounted an chambered there too - Kimber is a Great action- Good Trigger and Good stock ! Get the stock epoxy painted and the barrelled action Gun Koted ! Now you will a Shooter and still less money then a Suspect Fierce ?? rifle - jmo RJ
