Hey, I am looking for someone near Winnipeg who can and will engrave on my firearm. We want to make a custom reciever for a friend whose son passed suddenly. Please let me know if you know who would do this.

I don’t have the information that you looking for.
But just wanted to say that this is an awesome project and would make for a great memorial piece for the family.
Sincere condolences to family and friends.
 
I would not have guessed it, but there do appear to be options; have you done an internet search for 'firearm engraving winnipeg'?

Sorry I’m of no help with Canadian engravers, a couple I follow on social’s who do outstanding work, Jim white engraving out of Alaska, and a couple ladies from the lower states, Mellisa M studios and Chantal Schaschi. Might be worth checking out.
 
Sorry for your friends loss. I can’t think of any engravers in our area other than jewelry or trophy style, and I’m pretty sure that’s not what you are looking at.
I haven’t had anything done by him, but Brian Frank in Drumheller does outstanding work from what I’ve seen.

I have had a few floor plates and parts done at the local trophy shop.
Ask around the local shops and explain the situation

That would be my first try. Have seen a real variety of custom work for trophies/mementos on various tools, buckles, silver inlays etc
