Looking for gunsmith

"Gunsmith would have to take proper measurements as i lack to tools to do that."

How did you determine the chambers are smaller than the bore?

The ball, after being removed from the chamber, will almost fall thru the forcing cone. When pushed thru the barrel, it barely engages the rifling, light(lots of it) can be seen around the ball.

A fresh .375 ball barely shaves any lead upon chambering. That being said, the .375 ball, fresh and unchambered, also only lightly engages the rifling, even when pushe thru the muzzle of the barrel.

I`m inclined to think the barrel is much closer to .38 or larger, which would require a ball larger than .38, but the chambers would swage that loaded larger ball down to the same size as the.375.

It is also horribly inaccurate when compared with any other of my handguns, all .44 cap and ball. It is not even predictable where it will shoot

Maybe i`ll just drill them out with a 3/8 bit……it is only a $250 gun

Kidding. Still looking for a smith or machinist who can help

The forcing cone would also need to be checked

Sounds like your cylinder throats are undersize or your barrel's bore is oversize.

Black Powder can be difficult to figure out.

There should be enough pressure to ensure the round balls obturate into the rifling.

You can get a throat reamer, of the proper dimension, out of Czechoslovakia, over the internet. Maybe even from Ebay.

Once you have the reamer, it shouldn't be difficult to find a smith or machinist to clean up those throats for larger balls.

Recovered spent balls are only lightly marked with rifling. I use the softest lead i have for these, mostly from flashing and plumbing pipe- all the soldered parts were cut off and i use that for other projectiles. The barrel is probably the oversized part.

Love my black powder, and yes, it is not the easiest and most convenient.
