Looking for heavier loaded 9 mm target ammo in Canada

During a recent trip to the USA, I was briefly doing some recreational paper punching with Yanks and some real pros suggested that I've become too used to light loads and would greatly benefit from occasionally shooting some heavier than target grade handgun ammo in the 9 range, which is to say +p with more weighty bullets. Well who am I to argue, so once back home I asked at a primo local source for such stuff but all they could find were professional use anti-personnel rounds in little 20-25 round boxes that are really really expensive here. Just wondering if anyone knows of a source for +p that sells online and for a lot less than $1.50-$1.90 a round. I've already been told that I should start reloading, but I'm not that committed to the +p idea that it seems worthwhile.

Custom Reloading Service might be able to help you out. They are a sponsoring business down in the Ammo & Reloading business forum. I bought some 9mm from them with 124gr (I think it was) Speer Gold Dot bullets that was definitely on the hotter side and the price was way better than brand name ammo in the stores.

Custom Reloading Service carries Berry’s Hybrid Hollow Points in 124 and 147 grain weights. These bullets are said to perform like Speer Gold Dots, as far as expansion is concerned. Call John or Brad and order a box or two loaded with these HHPs.

I’ve loaded the HHP 147 grainers over 4.5 grains Longshot and they are as accurate as Berry’s 124 grain Target Hollow Points, about 4 inch groups at 15 meters standing. Not impressive but then those are my groups and I’m considered an old lousy shot.

try the winchester 9mm nato, loaded a little warmer & available in bulk at reasonable prices.
that will cycle my compensated glock whereas the winclean will not.

or get into reloading and work up your own for a lot cheaper. just be careful!

I don't even play around with +p cause in the end target shooting is the only shooting you can do in Canada unless your job requires you to do otherwise.

While most modern guns can probably handle 9mm +p ammo, not all can.

Not really sure what the benefit is if you normally use regular factory ammo. If you are used to super light, powder puff reloads, then going back to factory ammo may be a good thing. But hey, it's the OP's money. :)
