Tonight I was given some ammo because they have no guns anymore, well when he brings it down there are 2 magazines with them as well.

One is a Browning BLR 308/243 magazine and the other is a Remington 760 marked 35 Rem, I think it is a model 760 as I know the 7600 and it looks the same, just shorter.

Any idea what these may run?

Thanks

If the Browning magazine is for the BLR and not the newer 81 BLR then its worth a bunch, I've seen them going for $250-$300 as they are no longer manufactured, as for the the Remington magazine I'd guess 20-30 dollars. I'm not sure what 81BLR magazines go for but it would be a bit more than the Remington.

I did some reading, apparently the 35 Rem is a rare one, something about how the bullets sit in there, not a run of the mill from what I can tell so far.

Don't worry 'bout overpricing on E.E., you won't be the first. You can always come down, but not up.

Ha ha, just trying to not be "one of those guys", if the 35 Rem one is super rare and expensive it may find a spot in the safe, find a game master with no mag for cheap down the road :)

I am reading that there are blocks in the front and back to help with loading on that one, the 300 savage also has blocks in the front and back but the OAL is different, so if you need one for a 35 Rem they are almost impossible to find, they stopped making this gun in 1967.

I know how rare magazines are, hunting for spares for a pair of 22LR rifles for people and what was once common is now like hens teeth.

The BLR mag is an 81, so a normal one.

The 35 Rem one has clips blocking both the front and back, this is new to me, it is also stamped just 35 Rem. I see on a pile of US sights that short action ones do not work reliably with the 35 Rem, but if it is a run of the mill one then there is no problem having it sit in my safe. I have a friend who is being given a 35 pump but we are not sure exactly what it is, may happen to be a game master and therefore have a home.

Thanks for the info
