Lol, well not much doubt about the consensus here! Thanks for the input guys, I'll try mine out a few more times and if I notice any remotely dangerous habits developing I'll ditch the serpa and try to develop a feel for one of the other styles.

For the record I think that in the context of casual shooting, the danger posed by Serpa holsters is pretty overstated.
I don't like them and there are a pile of reasons I wouldn't want to see the local cops wearing them (although a few do in my area) but for plinking etc I think people are probably at greater risk from choking to death on excessively dry toast than from any holster-based threat.
