looking for hs-7 powder

I have a friend looking for hs-7 powder, i told him 571 and longshot are very similar, but he doesn't want to try a new powder.

anyone have a pound kicking around for trade or sale?

Winchester 571 and Hodgdon HS7 are both discontinued. Depends on what you are using it for there is Longshot and Blue Dot?

Wi 571 and HS7 are one in the same. I found 7 pounds of it in the bunker last fall and sold it off. That is where your next buy will come form - not a dealer.

I was gifted a couple of Mec 12g presses, and in the box of "stuff" that came with them were partial pounds of 571, 452AA and an old can of win western 450LS. About 1/2lb of each. Only the 450LS is in original packaging, though the others are clearly marked and repacked.

With all of them discontinued, I'm not sure it is worth developing any type of loads with them (even in a pistol). Gotta find someone locally and just donate it or fertilize garden.

Since it's simply not made any more maybe that would be motivation enough to make a load with a new powder. I had a pound of it I got with a shotshell press, I found it remarkably similar to longshot. Add to that the persistent rumor I have read that Longshot is the successor to that powder's niche and he should be sold on it.
