I was speaking with my Grandma the other day and she told me that back in the early 1950's (as an Army Cadet), my Grandpa won several rifle competitions. He had several trophies, most of them were destroyed when their house burned down about 35 years ago.

I went through an old storage shed they have though and found a trophy and a medallion damaged by the fire.

The medallion is from the Canadian National Exhibition in 1951 and was for the "King George V Cup Competition". The back of the medallion has a bust picture that says "The Honourable George C. Marshall Secretary of Defense of the United States".
I can't find any information of this competition but am curious to know more about it.

Second, I found a cup that simply says "Scrathcona Challenge Cup, CDT R. DAY" It was damaged in the fire but I'm hoping to have it restored. The base for it was destroyed though...does anyone have ANY idea where I could find an original picture of a trophy by that name to have a new base made for him?

This reads like a really crappy post, I just thought it was cool and want to restore these two pieces for him.
