Hi, Everybody!

I'm looking for same info. My son got an older ca. 1930's Ranger .22 Long Rifle ( and that is all it says were the bolt gets inserted ) given to him. I've done all the my homework, I looked it all up online. This one is different then all the ones from Sears, it has a somewhat weak front sight and two rear sights. The rear sight closer to the front sight has a V-groove and the other is a steel flip up peep. Maybe it was offered by Sears at one point, but I like to know the make and model since the gun is missing the bolt. The gun is in parts, and I will post pics later. Thanks for your help.

Canuck Jr, Ace II, Rabbit. I have one just like yours, but a Canuck Jr. I am missing the rear peep. Not sure if they came with it or someone added it in. They do have the small knob bolt though.

That is not a Canuck Jr. or an Ace ll. I have both. The rear peep is original. From John Belton's book pertaining to the Ace lll " The Ace lll, in addition to the standard open sights, employed as well, a small Cooey designed folding peep sight mounted at the very rear of the receiver".
The Ace lll was produced approximately from 1929-1933.

The Ace ll also has a small, simple folding peep sight but it is not mounted at the very rear of the receiver.
Note: I did a bit more digging and it is possible that variations could exist within each model. And with store brand guns it is hard to know for certain. It may be an Ace 2. If so, they are very uncommon. In any event, you will require a small round knob bolt.

That makes sense, the man who first got the rifle came from England in the 30's, as a child. He was send to Saska. by his parents to escape the war scene in England. The Farmer he stayed with must have bought it, or he earned it him self out in the fields. Do you know were I can get a bolt for it?
Thanks again, Der Hauptgefreite
