Looking for info for NEF M48 12 gauge "Topper".

I can't seem to find anything on Google.

On the metal:
New England Fitearms M48 Topper 12 gauge 3"
Made in Canada.

Wood stock (snap on forend)
Single shot, looks like a rebounding hammer type.
Has a shell ejector.

It has a serial number below the reciver but I don't want to post it out of privacy.

I'm just curious as to when and where this shotgun was made etc. A date of manufacture via serial number list would be nice.

LOL...I was just given a 16 gauge M48 "topper" yesterday although mine was made by H&R...No info but if i find anything out, i'll pass it along

does this: 1971 Serial number starts with AH (snap on forend) make sense?
