I have a friend who has just inherited an old French pistol and he's looking for some information on it. Here's the info we have:

Stamped on the slide is, "7,65 Court 9 Coups "Unique"" then on the next line, "Manufacture D'Armes des Pyrénées, Hendaye"

It's a 7.65mm, 9 shot pistol and the info he currently has suggests it was French made at a time when France was being occupied by the German army during WWII. It has a German acceptance mark on the rear right of the frame which is the German eagle over the text "WaA251".

Test firing marks are also present on the barrel with the eagle over a swastika.

The serial number on the frame is 42***. The pistol also has matched stamped numbers in the 200 range on the frame, slide and barrel.

This version also has an internal hammer. Supposedly it was later redesigned with an exposed hammer.

If anyone has any information on this pistol, I'd love to hear about it and will pass it on.

Thanks in advance.

Thank you very much for the info. I have already passed it on. I informed him of the 12(7) bit already. I know there is a process for this and have given him the contact info for the CSSA to get more information. I've never done that process myself so I'm not sure of the exact procedure.

As far as the link above, that is the exact pistol in question. The one my friend has is in significantly better condition than the one pictured but he was very happy to see the information on it and that the story he has appears to be accurate. (French gun, made under supervision or by the Germans during the war.)

I doubt there is much value to the pistol but would you be able to fathom a guess? Any significance and/or increase in value due to the matched numbers on the frame, slide and barrel?

Thanks again - that was quick!

A friend has one of those, it was a family member's vet bring back. Can't say it was super accurate at 35 yds, but that's hardly surprising. Spat brass like a Lungman. I can't say with any authority, but with the price of 12(6) being being what they are I would suspect it would be in the $150 to $200 range.

I've heard that they didnt make a specific holster for this pistol, but they just used a holster for a random small frame ...is this true??
