Hey Guys!
Just ended up with a lee enfield dated 1942 and could use some input from those in the know...
From what I have gathered(and I know nothing about these rifles) they are great rifles, but this one appears to be what they call sporterized. It also appears that the barrel has been cut. I will likely put this one on the block, but have no idea what it is worth. It has seen a factory thorough repair so no sure what is original to the gun as I've read that after the factory repair, you could find anything.
I've taken some pics and perhaps they would help in telling me what I have or what it might be worth. It has been refinished as you can tell from the sloppy work with the finish. I have cleaned most of this off now so it does look a little better in that respect. Barrel could use a good cleaning, but rifling looks pretty crisp and in good shape.
Anyway don't be afraid to tell me what you think.
