Hello Canada,

I am looking for some information on acquiring a used stock set (Fore-End, Pistol grip [Id prefer the original "Revolver" Grip but Ill take any at this point], Butt stock & the nose cap for the fore end) of a Norinco M311 or a Dominion Arms DA556. A few years ago I picked up a set from a Gun shop in Alberta but it looks like they are no longer in business. I've called almost thirty different gun shops from coast to coast and have had zero luck. I've also called CanadaAmmo and the gentlemen who answered my call seemed very unsure of if they had a set or two (or five!) lying around collecting dust. So my question is simple, Anyone here have a set or two they'd like to sell? Or perhaps know the location or any sets? Below are two pictures of the rifle & stock set I am referring to. I have made a thread about this same exact topic a few years ago and hoping I can get some luck with this again. Just to clarify, I am looking for ONLY the stock set, and associated fore end cap. Nothing else, not a receiver or magazine or barrel, JUST the stock set!

To be 100% transparent, I am in the United States, Not Canada. (Hopefully thats not against the rules of the forum?!) But In case anyone had any questions of legality, the last time I ordered a set of parts (the same exact stock sets this thread is about might I add) from you guys up in the Great White North I called the BATFE down here in the States and the Agent I talked to said there was no Legal issue with me acquiring a stock set as long as it wasn't directly from Norinco.

As mentioned in post #3, the Equipment Exchange here is where you can find stuff like that. Post a "want to buy" there and see what happens. I bet there are quite a few of these crappy stock set sitting in some basements gathering dust. Nearly everyone here in Canada that bought these rifles replaced their stock sets with proper AR15 stock sets.

Post a want to buy, you'd be surprised. A lot of guys bought these rifles, and the first thing many of them did was ditch the Norinco furniture for something cooler. I know I was surprised when someone offered to buy mine!

This. I practically gave my norinco furniture away years ago after several bumps. Lots sitting in parts boxes across the country.

I happen to have a set of furniture exactly like he bottom set that i took off my da556 to replace with brownells stuff..... Pm if interested

So what exactly is the AR scene up in Canada? I know you guys have different "tiers" of PALs and can only buy certain types of firearms on the different "tiers". How many different types of AR15s can you guys get? Im aware of Norinco/Dominion arms and Colt Canada but what else is out there for you guys?

We can get any AR-15, that isn't machined in the lower to accept full auto sears. 2 licenses, unrestricted (long guns) and restricted (handguns and ar15s). Each is a 1 day course. DD defense is quite popular up here, but you can get anything really (my new rifle is mostly v-seven weapon systems/2a armament), though budget AR's are the rage and far more popular up here, they were selling like hot cakes when the government threatened to ban them.

Making a "SBR" rifle requires a 5 minute phone call to tell the registry you put a new shorty barrel on your gun, they send an updated registration with the length you are good to go, $0 cost. Can't shoot restricted on public land (bush, woods etc...) though, only at a licensed gun range. Biggest problem with them. Was made so guys couldn't carry handguns around, but it screwed over the ar15 as a bush/hunting gun.

Can you guys get old school Colt rifles like the SP1 or SP2?

C7/C8 clones, specifically the MP 15 sport gen 2. Though a lot of guys like the retro A2 look they're available less and less it seems.

you can get pretty much any AR-15 here since they started making them in the 60's they have sold them here. all of the colt SP-1s to what ever is the most new AR. myself i am only interested in older ARs nun of the new guns. carbines by far are more popular then rifles/M16s.
here is a video for you. all are legal guns in Canada.

I'm a huge fan of the Norc rifles personally. Back 4 years ago you could them off the EE for under 400 shipped for some!

I literally tried to break one. They are ugly, absolute beasts of a rifle. All their wonky quirks aside. In Stock config they can and will go the distance and take an ungodly amount of abuse.
But yeah up here we can get any and all ar15 they're just all restricted.
We can also have under 16" barrels with no special provisions etc I believe that was a sticky bone of contention at some point down in the USA was it not?

Neat! Have always like the look of the C7A2(or was it A3?) personally, Wish the US Government wasnt in bed with H&K and Sig Sauer. A company called VOLTOR had plans to help the USMC modernize the M16A4 into the "A5".The M16A5 was basically supposed to be what you guys have had since you ditched the Solid butt stock. Voltor still makes the A5 collapsible stock still I think. Need to get around to doing a clone of one...Is it illegal to own a C7 stock set? That would be nice to have...
