Well the time has come for me to pick up another AR platform. ive narrowed it down to these 3 all carried by a forum sponser, all need to be ordered and all i think are great rifles. My wife is sick of me asking for her opinion so i bring this to you.

My requirements were 10.5-12.5"(had a 10.5 and loved it but ive heard performance from the 12.5 is quite a bit better).I want something chambered in 5.56 and lastly comes with a rail system is a bonus.

PWS is new, very reliable and priced incredibly well for a piston AR. I understand the benefits of this system which as a weekend paper shredder really wont shine but hey, latest and greatest for a fantastic price and a rail, flip sights.

Never had a Noveske, never really knew much until the firepig came on the scene, now from what i understand they do make some of the best, if not best barrels in the 5.56 world. They have a DD mk18 bad boy. I love the DD rail, the M249 grade barrel work(5rnds a mag x 10 mags x lefty changes + sore loading thumb=a cardboard barrel probably would do the trick if rain wasnt an issue)

Lastly LMT, priced higher than the 2 with less gizmo more potatoes. Old, trusted potatoes that SEALs eat. Also seems half of the ones for sale are .223 the other 5.56

Sorry this is long, this is over done and this is the 20th post like this. Im waiting for my adult entertainer career to take off so i can only afford one rifle right now.

Thanks

There was a recent thread comparing Noveske and LMT, and for the most part it was a coin toss. Your three choices are top end manufacturers with good reputations. They all will give you the performance and reliable function you're after. Go with your gut, what looks the best to you? Look at some blown up pictures of them in detail... Go to the manufactures websites and read their history... Buy the one that appeals to you and most importantly buy in confidence (all three are boss)

Good luck,

If you care about stats, tier list, blab blah elitest stats that will make very little difference..

go with the noveske.

I think questar is starting to bring in the GenII Noveske rifles with those nice GenII lowers :)
If you don't like it, chances are you can split up the rifle sell it for as much as you paid based on these Crazy EE prices

My vote is for the PWS. Probably the cheapest option out of the three, and it's a piston system (cleaner, less maintenance). Honestly though, with the three choices that you've narrowed it down to - you can't really go wrong with any of those three.

I have both LMT and Noveske, and both are outstanding rifles. between those two I would chose Noveske for the accuracy of their barrels. The Noveske rifles are pretty much ready to go right out of the box, where (at least the the less expensive )LMT's may need to be modified to fit your needs. I have never owned a PWS but I do own a H&K MR223 piston, and there is no doubt that it runs cleaner than my DI's. the one thing I don't like about the piston is that is tends to be a little muzzle heavy, but I guess a 10.5 or 12.5 would be a little easier to wield. the other option is the SR-15 from KAC (although I'm not sure if you can get a 10.5 or 12.5) and that comes in slightly above the price of the Noveske's, but it a gorgeous rifle as well.

Thanks for all the replies, it seems safe there is no wrong choice. As
Of now I bumped LMT out of the running. Priced at $299 more than the other 2 with no nifty rails etc. might be a wait but will update once I've got one on route.

KAC 11.5" ??

I would chime in for the PWS. Here's a review I did on it:

http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php?t=622816

I shot two groups (not a large sample) of each type of commercially available ammo that I had and I was able to get some decent groups. With the 10.5" barrel, with a combat rifle 4x scope, and shooting a relatively quick 10 shot group, I was able to get a 2.2 inch group. I have shot even better since then with a 6x combat scope.

Can't go wrong with any of the rifles you are looking at, but the PWS has served me well.

I have a Noveske Crusader upper on an LMT lower and a PWS Diablo upper on an ATR lower.

Function, fit and form are impeccable for all.

Does that help? :D
