hey all,
Im having a frustratng time finding a precision rifle in left hand. My budget is about $1000 for the gun but all long as I pay the visa before my wife see's it I can stretch it to $1500.
left hand, 308, heavy free floating barrel, and all the other important features but here is the part Im having a hard time with- I prefere a McMillan stock (A4 or A5 style) and a detachable mag.
life must be easy for you right handed ppl
thanks for your ideas

The detachable mag is the hard part. However, the Tikka T3 comes with one and left handed. The trick will be finding one. Epp's is listing several left hand T3's with synthetic stocks, but not in .308. Under $700 too.
Any dealer can order anything you want and get it fairly quickly if their supplier has it in stock.
Don't get married to a McMillan stock. They're expensive.

If you check out the savage 2008 cataloge they make a model 12 vlp with a detachable mag (new for 08) in left hand 308. are you looking for a bench gun ? because if so I find a right handed gun far better off the bench for a left handed shooter. you never have to break your cheek/stock contact and your free front hand can work the bold. if you are looking for a hunting rifle everything I said goes out the window.
good luck to a fellow lefty
p.s. the 08 savage catlog is avalable for download on the bottom of the savage website

The McMillan A5 will run 700ish and then HS mag and bottom metal is about 300ish as well so unless you find some used left hand gun for 500 you're SOL.

Lefty,
Will probably be quite a while before any (if any) of those new Savages make it North of the border...

I feel your pain - I'm a lefty too.

If you are going to be shooting from a bi-pod, rest, or riding the bags, a right-bolt, right-port isn't that bad to shoot (I actually prefer it for varmint shooting).

The perfect rig would be Left-Bolt:Right Port - now we're talkin'....

Never seen it - probably never will....unfortunately
