First and foremost is the FUN FACTOR !
Would a lever action rifle be a good choice for this category ?
I’m thinking a Henry Big Boy X, .357 magnum.
Also c/w some Range Point Precision embellishments.

Lever guns are fun af. I just got to try my new-to-me Henry Big Boy in 44 mag for the first time. Not my first or only lever rifle but I really dig this one. Will have to shoot it for groups next time I'm out with it and see how well it does. I don't think you'll be disappointed with a Henry.

Go for it…For inspiration here’s my Henry Big Boy X in 357 mag…Tons of fun…not very competitive in the speed shooting games against detachable box fed guns but I’m working on some speedloaders that hopefully will close the gap. And it’s a hell of a truck gun in the meantime…

Good morning Innavedaw,

Thanks for the picture, very intriguing. It’s giving me many ideas.

Some of the respondents have suggested I start with a small bore 22LR.

I already shoot and actively participate in biathlon so if I go this route I’ll move up to a pistol calibre more likely .357.

Have a great day and week.

I personally like them mainly because my good eye is left though I am a righty so shoot left. The extra round capacity is nice too. Marlin has always been my go too but Henry & Chiappa is pretty good. I Shoot everything from 45-70 to .22 and find them as accurate or better as any other rifle scoped or not. Typically stay in the 16-20" barrel range so my shooting is not past 200. For very long range/target/sniper etc. I cannot see this being a good rifle but for hunting can't beat them.
