Using .312" 174gr Hornady HPBTs in my P-14, No.4 and SMLE, my IMR 4064 loads have varied between 39.0gr to 40.0gr (fine-tuned for each rifle). With Prvi brass (neck-sized and sorted for use in one rifle only), this gives an average velocity of ~2250fps. I also tailor the overall cartridge length for each rifle based on the maximum length that will still allow for reliable magazine feeding and closing the bolt easily. Together with Winchester WLR primers, I've had wonderful results using these in milsurp competitions.

In addition;On an old Speer bullet chart that is part of the decore of my reloading room, just to the left of the little window.
It's a 175gr RN, listed for the 7.65mm, 0.313" diameter. The bullet is listed on my old Speer display board but no longer available. That would be interesting to test in some of the older 303's with larger the bore diameters that are run into.
I was lucky enough to score 1000 of those a few years ago! Most accurate thing I've been able to feed my 5 groove 43 LB!!! Wish I could find more!

the 174 RN from hornady are the best bullets I have ever shot through the old P14. that rifle consistently 3 round grouped under an inch at 100m with those, every so often I get a winger but meh... it is usually only makes it a 1.5 inch grouping . with factory Winchester I was getting around 4 inches.
My recipe is 43.2 grains BLC-2, BR primers IVI brass. It the fastest powder you can get for the .303, I was shooting 174gr bullets at over 2600FPS and 43.2gr is barley over starting load for the powder. Factory 180gr win shoots about 2300 out of the gun.
I got 174 FMG/BT's bullet as well but I have not had a chance to shoot them yet.

I am thinking that is my next step, I have been looking into all the stuff I am going to need. Do you need a certain type of press for sizing the bullets? I have seen some casting kits that come with a press.
I am almost not really wanting to try them after reading how so many people have had bad experiences with them, I dont want to waste a primer or powder haha
There is a small press used to size the bullets, I use a Lyman, but lots of companies make them. - dan
