Looking for Magazines...

On Monday (hopefully), I am getting a 5" STI Trojan in .45. It comes with only 1 magazine, so I was wondering: are 1911 mags from Freedom Ventures OK for the Trojan? This would be my 1st 1911, and I read there may be 'issues' if the follower isn't round, etc. I also wonder if the quality is still there, considering the $15 price...

If you think those mags are a bad idea, what would you recommend?

I'm also looking for a couple of extra mags for my SP-01 Shadow. I hear that Tanfoglio mags would fit, but which ones? Freedom Ventures has '9& 40& 45 Std mag (Combat Sport)' for $41, would those fit my Shadow?

Dude,

Mags are the "weak link" in any system... But Quality (Wilson, McCormick, etc) and you'll never have any worries!

The .45 mags I got from FV work great for me in my Startan.
They are (the ones I got) made in Italy by ACT and look exactly same as Mec-Gar. I got ectra 4 mags from Sean.

Lots of places would sell 1911 mags. There was a recent thread about Dlask having some good ones. You can also source from US for a little more, such as Tripp Research.

For CZ Shadow, Armco has them. And, of course, you can also get them from US, I've used CZ Custom before. They're just CZ 75 10 round mags.

Thanks, just confirmed with Sean he still sells the same mags, and ordered 4. Also ordered 2 Tanfoglio mags for the Shadow because Sean says they'd fit fine. At $41 each, still cheaper than most other places...
