thanks!

I bought an LRPV from Cabella's at Christmastime. Good price, and I had the rifle in my hands inside two weeks. This was much faster than Wholesale Sports said they could bring one in.

Elwood Epps is where I got my Savage 12 VLP DBM 1:7" for $871 +tax.

They said it would take 12 weeks to order in, it took 15 and had it shipped to my door within 24 hours of me giving them my PAL #.

It's a painful wait but they come through for the best price you'll find anywhere.

If you really don't wanna wait WSS may have it in stock. They had my VLP DBM 1:7 in stock for an extra $100 but I chose to wait.

ah gotcha never heard them refered to wss befor, alays just wholesale, iv e--mailed them but waiting to here back.. im not sure what other stores are like, but the one closest to me is TERRIBLE! i was in there looking for bases and rings, i gave them exact part numbers and all i got was "i dunno" :/

There's a WSS in Victoria? Or is it in Nanaimo... Thats too bad they suck. I emailed them once, was going to buy something. They turned me off of it. I wouldent buy anything more expensive than bullets there I dont think.

If I get back to the Island I'm going to have to find the good stores to deal with.

its the one in Nanaimo, the prices are decent but the staff is the most unknowlagble people i have ever met, unless you know exactly what you want and all the details on it , i wouldnt shop there. and even then, it would be last on the list of places to go.

after the failed attempt at buying a set of rings, i moved on to buying some hornady bullets, while i could see them on the shelf behind the counter the staff member was ademint that they didnt have any, it took a good 5 min to just get those *sigh*

Wholesale are very difficult to deal with. You are best to phone their central website number. They should be able to tell you if they have stock. It helps to have their stock number. You also should have the Savage # as they can look up their stock by it. The link below is to their page, but in typical WSS manner you can't tell if it is the 7 twist or 9 twist. I also included a Savage link. The Savage model you are looking for is the 18145. Get them to read off the description and the Savage model number to confirm you are talking about the same one.

thanks Ron, every place iv been e-mailing iv been making sure to include the savage modle number, my faith in big chain stores is pretty minimal haha,

the WSS link you have included is the duel port model, it only comes in the 1:9 for .223 the 1:7 is only available in the Left Port model

http://ca.wholesalesports.com/store...ng-range-precision-varminter-/prod236356.html is the left port, but it gives a "this item will take longer to order" message when i add to cart

You are right. The 7 twist is right bolt, left port. If you can find a helpful guy at the gun counter of Wholesale (a rarity), they can check stock at other stores. In theory (but in practice it is ugly), they can transfer stock from one store to another. That was my situation. After waiting two months for them to get a transfer done, I finally drove 300 km (each way) to pick it up at the other store.

Their whole computer system has been changed to a new system and doesn't even allow them to search items anymore. This makes it even more painful when trying to find stuff.

To the OP, I checked our location for you and there are none here.

I purchased mine from WSS and used the calgary warehouse to place the order online. Lady on the phone was very helpful and i believe it arrived 3 months later.

It is the best off the shelf rifle i have purchased to date, well worth the wait.

While you are waiting for the rifle to ship you might consider trying to get the SSS trigger for it and a replacement barrel (Mystic Precision sold me a Shilen barrel i believe).

So you bought the rifle, it shot great, and you took off the barrel and trigger any way? Would have been cheaper to buy a lesser model and done the same thing, wouldn't it???
