Looking for more info about Swiss K11

I must have missed the email. When were any banks supposed to be philanthropic?

Nope. It should be totally acceptable to allow deposits in the forms of crates of gold fillings and wedding rings from concentration camps... why not?
JT is self-flagellating himself with a Gucci belt over the residential schools...because we are Canadian.
Sorry, Begging your pardon...as Canadians we hold ourselves to impossible to achieve standards.
Matte93...hope that your new rifle is all that you want it to be.

Very nice looking rifle.

I've had an interest in getting a K31 ever since the first time I stumbled across blokeontherange, but the current pricing spike has stopped me thus far.

Schaeren(Schären) Traugott, Born 1913
Flak(antiaircraft) Btn 1/5

Looks like he was issued a 1940 production K31 (#607656) then given this K11 when he went into reserve status.

Awesome thanks for the interpretation of the troop tag. Was confused by the crossed out number but that makes sense now. It was crossed out in pen which had me concerned

Switzerland was really in great need of coal in WW2. Their choice was freeze or get it from Germany.

No one should be surprised by banks swindling, they all do that. If you are wealthy enough to invest funds, buy bank stocks and make some dividends. A lot of charitable foundations are just vehicles for the directors to go on the "grand tour".

It has a S.J.G in an oval and a B106 in the oval. I know J in German is like an I so I think the barrel maker is SIG, would make sense as the rest of the parts have a rifle with an N which is also SIG. Don’t know what the B106 is.

There is also a second serial on the barrel that differs from all the others

barrels ere made separate from the recievers, had their own serial. upon assembly, the receiver number was added to the barrel. plenty of info on markings if you search.

Ive looked through some websites, understand most of the markings on this one. Only one that still has me puzzled is the B106, I think it is an inspector or manufacturer mark

The Swiss certainly don’t have a perfect track record but their ability to remain neutral while the rest of Europe capitulated, surrendered or hung on for dear life is pretty amazing.
I'm pretty sure Poland doesn't fit your categories noted above. Their army fought to the bitter end.
