Hey everyone

I'm looking for a bit of information on my Mosin Nagant.

i believe it is a Russian Tula(?) made rifle in 1922. but that's all i can gleam off it. It has a matching bolt but the bore is a bit dark but the rifling is strong though and it is counter bored.

One thing i don't want to ever do again is clean the cosmoline off one of these rifles ever again. and don't get me started about cleaning a few wars worth of crud in the barrel lol.

Also it has a few markings that i think it is a square with an "A" in it but looks like there might be another letter before it. also anotehr stamp as well.

Here is some pics of a few of the markings and some general pics.

I can only help a little

The marking with the a in the box is actualy SA. that is a Finnish capture mark. The best way for you to find out is to drop by seven point six two x fifty four r dot com. they have killer pics of mosin markings. If that doesn't work sell the rifle to me for five dollars because rare markings make it worth less money :D

I think this one has seen service in Latvia, Mitava(now Elgava) Fire Dep...I have seen one like this at a gunshop in Riga last Dec...
Typical Finn rebuild, however the barrel and receiver seem to be original to each other.
