Looking for ideas/ thought's on new grips for a Sig P226 Tac Ops. I've got small Paws and E2 grips are hard to find. I like the way the grip fits now, except the fact the mags are hard to slam home with 10 rds in the mag due to the grip extensions. (Mags are flush fit )

What is involved with changing? Just the screws and Bob's your uncle ??

Nope, i managed to find an E2 Grip set from one of the site dealers.

Now if i can only find a place to have them installed.

You can install it yourself, it takes less than 5 minutes; you just need to remove the grips and slide the 1 piece E2 grip on the frame. There is an installation/removal tool included with the kit (It's some kind of "T" shapped plastic tool that allows you to pry/open up the grips).

With E2

Nevermind. The Gunsmith at Target Sports just told me the E2 grips are not compatible with the Tacops P226. Not without trying to modify the frame.

So, i'm stuck with these Extended Tacops grips.

That's weird...isn't the Tacops frame the same as every other Elite?

I called Questar and they said its a 10min conversion tops.....i don't know what to do now. The E2 grip kit is going to cost me 100 plus shipping. I don't want to get it if it won't work.

Ya, Questar says the kit comes with all parts needed to change it over. Not sure what the Gunsmith from Target Sports is talking about.........

But, i really don't want to start changing parts over, as i really have no idea what i'm doing. I'll check with a few other dealers around, somebody must be able to change this over. :p

All P226 frames (Beavertail or not) have the same spec and can use the same grips. I've read some reports that people installing E2 on X-Five had to use a dremel but that's a different animal.

Yes, i sent back the information i received from Sig and Questar to the Gunsmith at Target Sports....... never heard back.

Target Sports seldom responds to emails or PM. You need to call them directly.

Their gunsmith has a separate email.....we had been emailing back and forth, until i asked if he was sure about having to modify the frame to put the E2 grips on. I told him Sig said everything came in the kit that was needed to change it over and that it would take 10 mins max. Never heard back. No big deal.
