Looking for new pistol advise

About 11 years ago, I shot a H&K USP 9mm. Absolutely loved it, but that was probably borne more out of a love of Counterstrike than anything else. Now that I'm older and wiser, I'd love to try one again to see if it might make my list. Do you guys think it would stack up against my list? Are they worth the extra $?

I think they are worth it, great guns. Might be able to pick one up in the EE for a good discount. I've heard that the 40cal mags will cycle 9mm in there as well...

If you're looking at the Beretta 92 take a look at the Turkish clone. I handled one the other day and was very impressed by both the fit and finish and the smoothness of the trigger pull. Given that I couldn't see any substantive difference between it and the Italian 92 I was looking at, at the same time, and the price is under $500 at a few retaillers - I can't see paying the extra for the Italian.
