Not really sure about the choices given being in the same price range as the M3500. I bought mine M3500 (Max-4) back when they first came out and taxes in, shipped to my door was a hair over $800 total. Now, looking at Elwood Epps as an example, the M3500 Max-4 runs $900 before shipping and taxes, if you want it even cheaper, the black synthetic is only $750 before taxes and shipping. For a bit of a comparison at Epps, the Franchi Intensity 3.5" Camo is just under $1200. None of the other brands mentioned come anywhere near that for cost. Sure they may be great guns as well, but I see this all the time with people asking what to buy. Someone asks about a certain affordable gun and everyone chimes in to buy this one or that one as it is really good and in the same price range, but they seldom are even close to the same price. A couple hundred bucks to some isn't a big deal of course, but when you want a good affordable gun, you want an affordable gun! Not one hundreds of dollars more.
Anyway, I fully agree that you have to shoulder your guns to see what fits best. The Stoeger comes with inserts for drop if desired as I think a lot of them do now. It also comes drilled and tapped for the included scope base making this shotgun instantly adaptable for deer/turkey with a scope/red dot as well which I have taken full advantage of.
