Looking for opinions on Drozd Blackbird

Ok got the Drozd of friday and did some shooting on the weekend.
This thing is WICKED fun!!

Pretty loud for the backyard shooting without attracting unwanted attention, so had to take it elsewhere.

The aftermarket chip allows for 3 different rates of fire once in full auto...I think the 800 rpm is the sween spot.
Hopper fits right around 1000 BB's and I ended up going with the Umarex brand.
However after firing about 2000 rounds (mostly bursts and full auto), the remote Co2 tank frozed up on me.
It came with 2 remote tanks with quick detach....now I'm thinking of converting to HPA in order to avoid the freeze.

Is there anything I need to do to the gun, or is it just plug and play while hooking into the HPA tank?

Yes with HPA keep it under 1100 psi output. So you will see like 3000/4500 PSI that the fill pressure, but it would be regulated to 850 to like 1100 psi. Normal Co2 pressure range. Most paintball stores selling tanks should be within those limits. Stick with 48ci or greater tanks. A 13ci tank won't last long.

I found the Daisy zinc plated BB,s were very accurate too. Any yes even full auto is more fun when it’s accurate. No spray and pray on this one. They are actually quite accurate on semi auto mode too. I need a mod board for mine but don’t think there are any around anymore. Have fun with yours.

Are the power outputs on those tanks pre-set or, do you have the ability to regulate the output yourself?
Also ate there any mods that are needed on the actual gun, before feeding the HPA into it?

When you purchase a HPA tank, it should be listed with the fill PSI, tank capacity and what PSI the regulator ( output ) is set for. You won't be changing the output PSI easily due to they are normally a bunch of curved washers stacked in different ways. The gauge on it, will only show you the tanks fill PSI. Not the output PSI. No mods needed, as long as the output pressures on the HPA tank are within the normal for Co2.

Most paintball HPA tanks are regulated for 800-850 PSI.

Just as a reminder if you are going to shoot a high volume of BBs through this gun then I suggest to do a BB center mod for your valve head, otherwise your barrel won't last very long.
You can also still order mod boards that will do up to 5k rpm.

That sounds great but have no clue how to go about doing this "center mod".
Could you recommand any links to step by step procedure on this one?

Honestly the board that's in there iright now s plenty fast...my highest setting is 1200 rpm with this one and to me it sounds much better on the 800 rpm setting.
It gives it more realistic full auto sound.
