Looking for people from Lethbridge/Medicine Hat kind of area that would be interested in expanding the sport.

If anyone has any interest in getting something going (with lots of help) please let me know.

Please PM me - Thanks!

I am going to bump this up.

I am expanding the area of interest to include West Central Alberta and East Central Alberta (kind of near the provincial borders and between Calgary/Edmonton).

I'm in hanna area and would be very excited to go out shooting with like minded people I have permission on land with a good backstop and 1360 yards for casual plinking, I have not been to a match but look forward to trying it out.

I would drive there for that.

I am hoping someone who has a membership there is interested in PRS and we can use that to get some matches there - hint hint.

The RMH range is available for rent (the Rob Furlong MA uses it) and it goes out to 600M. It would be a great spot to have a match.

I have made initial contact with the club but need help to take it further.

I am not a member but let me know if I can do anything to help. PRS is the most fun I have ever had shooting and I have done a lot of shooting. I really want to see more matches.

What is required to hold a match on private or crown land? The Alberta Poker Rally does that and it's a similar setup. If shooters all have liability insurance through one of the Canadian firearms organizations it might remove a potential issue, no?

The issue isn't getting the land useage from the Crown, since shooting on crown land isn't illegal already, nor is it the event insurance. The problem is because it is an organized event, the CFO steps in. Because it is public access land they argue you can't control the template and shut you down ( not that bubba and his SKS control the template either). Stupid really but this is the bureaucratic process we are forced to follow.

Adam is right, public land is a no go. I don't really know what the deal is with private land but if anyone knows and was willing to share that would be great.

Have to be careful. It's very likely those guys don't take the proper steps to put on that event.

While I don't necessarily care, I'd be peed off if I lost my 90$ for it being closed down the day of the shoot. The pig roast is delicious though.

There is also some rule about it being a paid/organized event or something along those lines.

Maybe we could convince the CFO we just all showed up at the same time and place just for fun!!!

I would be very interested. These are great match formats and i would love something closer than Hint, which i will still drive too in the spring and fall.
