Our club is wanting to equip the indoor pistol range with a returning target system. We have 10 shooting lanes. Are any of you guys aware of any used equipment that might be available at a realsonable price? We are in Ontario but would consider shipping.

There is someone who had exactly what you are looking for in Southern Ontario, and it was listed on the SHA for sale page, that has sadly been taken down because of Spame. I would suggest you put a post up at targetshooting.ca or visit the SHA (sask handgun assoc. website) and see if they can provide you the name of the vendor.

If you can't find a contact at the SHA, let me know and I'll look into it for you.

They seem to be garage door openers with long rails and chain. If you don't get any where and have a good work party of volunteers @ your club, you might work some thing out like that.

I haven't tumbled onto a used system yet but I did get some information on the Mancom system that uses a single cable & string to pull them back & forth. They are a Canadian company & the design is simple.
Anyone have any experience with this system? Was there lots of repairs due to damage? 22 & center fire bullsey shooting is what we need them for with IPSC & archery going on underneath them on other nights. Let me know your experiences.

what about making your own? its extreamly simple, i made a small one in my basement for airsoft when i was younger. About 10 meters long. Just buy 2 clothesline pulleys, coated steel cable, and a clip to attach the cardboard/paper to. You can add a few cable supports depending on how long you make it.

If your looking into electric ones, you add a small industrial garage door motor to the system, and a second pulley to one of the 2 axles. Get a belt to drive the cable in and out. And a 3 way switch (Forward, Off, Reverse) to control the motor. If I didn't have a fulltime job i'd offer to build them.

Honestly considering putting a wanted sign up at your range for a handyman to build you a cable return system. If youd like more information or help, let me know and I can draw up some working drawings.
