I am looking for a polishing compound to add to my set up and am looking for recommendations.

SS Pins, Water, 9mm casing of dawn, 9mm casing of lemishine.

I have noticed that with distilled or tap water they are somewhat tarnished when I pull them out. Does anyone have a polishing compound I could add to this mixture to aid in the polished finish of my casings?

I use liquid car wax/soap instead of dawn, brass comes out brighter than any dry tumble method. It also acts as a lube as if cases are too clean, they tend to stick to powder drop on a progressive press. A long tumble time really makes cases stick, have backed off on time and works better. A little tarnish/less shiny may be a benefit.

I’ve also occasionally used a cap of brass cleaner solution. Try different amounts of lemishine and other liquids and tumble time, the tarnish may be result of too much of any.

I use the dawn and Lemy shine booster. At first I was not putting enough of both but now my case look new - shine even more than new Lupua brass out of the box. Lemy is sold at Canadian Tire in the dishwasher soap section. You can also get it on Amazon but they charge way more for it. The trick is to find the right quantity of Lemy...to obtain the shine.

I use ZEP degreaser also - it clean but case are not as shiny. But this is better soap if you clean your case that have resizing lube (rifle) in the wet tumbler. The lube leave a sticky residue after a while if using only Dawn. The degreaser fix that.

If the interior of the drum is dirty - not enough soap.

Look over the web - other found replacement method for those two - but in my case - if it’s ain't broken - don’t fix it apply for me.

I stopped using Dawn after having a bunch of brass come out discoloured.

Have been using Tide laundry detergent for the last couple of years, just one half table spoon,a little bit of lemishine, very hot(soft) water and not too many pins, brass comes out like new in less than an hour.
