Looking for powder

All Alliant powder has been very difficult to find for many months now. I used to use a lot of Bluedot for buckshot and slug loads for 12ga and just gave up and switched to Hodgdon Longshot and 800x. Alliant powders can still be found here and there on rare occasions but not with any real consistency. There are various rumours or reasons for this, one of the more prevalent ones is that Alliant's export permits expired and they've been having difficulty getting new ones to be able to export powder from the US. I have no idea if this is true but there are small shipments of Alliant powder coming in every now and then according to various members here on CGN (I haven't seen any myself in maybe a year).

Longshot was available for quite a while from Higginsons not too long ago; sold out now. I don't remember where I picked mine up from. I've seen 700x and 800x around here and there, just need to search around and pay the hazmat fee for an online order to be shipped. Even scored 2lbs of Titegroup a few months ago but that was just luck (right place, right time).

Only Blue Dot I've seen in the past maybe 18-24 months is the near empty bottle on my shelf. It has maybe an ounce or two left. I've been experimenting with Longshot and 800x loads lately so haven't used it up yet.
I was talking with one odd seeming guy and he mentioned that he had 10lbs of Bluedot in his garage and didn't reload shotshells so had no use for it. I asked if he was looking to sell any and his response was "f**k you, $100 a pound". I suppose it goes without saying that I didn't buy any.

I don't remember all the brands, but Rusty Wood had lots of powder at the Chilliwack gun show, last weekend. More than I've seen in years.

I think you are more likely to find the ark, find Jimmy Hoffa's body or see a sasquatch in the wild than find much in the way of pistol or shot gun specific powders. It is totally hit or miss, being in the right gun store at the right time.
I have a buddy going to the US in a few months. I gather you can bring back 17 lbs at one time from what I have heard. At this point, cost is secondary to me, just want to be able to keep reloading.
