Nice rifle. Got pics?

Why not post a WTB in the EE for a Remington Mountain Rifle in 308? Top it off with a VXII 2x7 and you're set.

The Marlin X7 is a good suggestion as well. I have one in 30/06 and like it a lot.

there is also the option through the savage axis they are light weight and comes with a scope you can get .223 .270 .308 .30-06 .22-250 for around 450 or less depending on where you are at

i will stay away from the axis. the ones i ve seen here didnt impress me at all (stevens 200 is defintely a better rifle), and as Ted and Super Cub (and others) as told the marlin is really a good rifle and hard to beat for the price.

I like the USRA Mod 70 FWTs and the original Remington Mountain 700s. Both would be 6.75 lbs in '06.

What about one of those 700 titaniums, they seem to be very light in '06. Don't know if they are avaliable anymore new.

Again used,.... Ruger M77 RLS in .30-06 with 18.5 inch barrel and rifle sights circa 1990. Six pounds of sweetness.
Always loved the look and feel of those little carbines. And with that new supperformance .30-06 ammo, they should get respectable velocities in that carbine barrel.

I have a Remington Titanium Alaskan in .300WSM that is nice and light, but I used to own a Remington Mountain rifle in .270 that was super light and extremely accurate. Oh yeah, I also had a Remington Model 7 in 7mm SAUM that was light and accurate.

Lot's of choices out there, the Tikka T3 Lite stainless is available in .300WSM and .30-06, weights well under 7 pounds and is not a bad rifle for the price.
