Looking for recommendations for .22LR Revolver

I realize this might be unrealistic for most, but my S&W M18 is just about everything I could ask for in a .22 revolver. Fits me well, good sights, good trigger in both hammer and trigger cocking. It doesn't like most cheap ammo, but it loads and ejects the Federal 525 bulk pack stuff just fine, and that works out just fine for me. It looks and feels virtually identical to my M15 .38 Special, so it is a great practice piece.

But yeah, it's 12(6) prohibited due to the 4" barrel length. I'm not sure what their current options are for a K-frame .22.

I really love the look. That's why I'm kind of keen on something close to a 4.1" barrel. If only the 617 came shorter than 6".

Nice looking pistol. Thanks for sharing.

I highly suspect your issue is ammo related. Some .22 sticks in my revolvers, and most don't. Try a few different brands. Should never have to bang on the ejector rod.

Brass sticking in the chamber was a problem for my first .22 pistol, a S&W Model 41. I still have it and like it a lot.

I tried a bunch of different ammo in my 41 and it really liked and easily ejected some olympic quality target ammo (at about $20 a box of 100 back 20 years ago) and Remington standard velocity target. I found a Canadian source of the Remington so I purchased 10 bricks which should be enough to last a life time and still pass some onto my youngest son who also shoots.

With my 617 the case sticking is a sign i am due for a good cleaning. He is a fine revolver but a constant maintenace revolver.

Unfortunately I think you've found the full market options with the S&W, the Ruger, Taurus or Alfa Proj, at least so far as new guns are concerned.

S&W does list the 617 with a 4" barrel stateside, so presumably they can offer it in 4.2", a distributor just has to ask for it.
