Hey guys

I do some longer range shooting along a hydro line, near where I live. Up to this point, I’ve been using a couple different free apps for a ballistic calculator, but they’re not typically very accurate, outside about 500m, and I find we end up heavily relying on a spotter to walk POI into the gong.

Can anyone recommend a few good apps for this purpose. I’m willing to pay for one, if it’s know to be good. As with most things, if I can get one that works well for free, that’d be great too.

Let me know

Pay the $15 and get the updated strelok pro version. I
The free strelok app is great but the pro version has a range validation component to it that changes the game and really gives you a bang on accurate drop chart.

I am currently running applied ballistics thru my kestrel 5700. I have not used the AB app. Prior to I was running Hornady 4DOF which was pretty good but running the custom curve Ballistic coefficient has proved to be the most accurate for me.

I have used both StrelokPro and AB, I like StrelokPro more.
I find AB to be glitchy (iOS) but still use it to reference Lits drag models.

I am just getting into PRS/long range style shooting and I use the Hornady 4dof app. Watch the video on how to set up your rifle in the app and input your load info and it works well for me. I just shot my first match and I made good hits on targets at every distance using the info from the app. I would try it before you pay for an app for sure

I've used strelok and bullet flight m .... imho strelok is worth the money if you are going to use it. But if you're shooting the same hydro field in your area take a day and map it out, get your zeros for each of your rigs and keep a journal. Can save yourself the money and get cold bore hits next time out at that range. If youre stretching your legs further, rinse and repeat in diff temps ie. summer/winter to account for change in air density.
