I have a couple of the Sig Romeo 5 red dots. One is permanently attached to my 858, and the other travels around between various "experiment" guns - basically anything I'm experimenting with, until I sort out exactly what sighting system I'm going to stick with. It's been on everything from single shot 12 gauges, to pump and semi-auto 12s, my M305, various full powered and intermediate powered rifles, a couple of .22s... I love it's small size, lightweight, good sight picture. It basically gives me a nice aiming point, and otherwise gets out of the way.
And aside from the recoil of the various guns it's been on, it's hit the concrete of the garage floor more times than I can count, as I fumble around swapping it between guns. And I've never had a single problem with it. Which is kind of funny- the reason I use it as my "temp" sight on those guns, is because at its price point, I consider it semi-expendable. I mean, I'm not specifically setting out to wreck it, but if I happen to, it won't break my heart, either.
And yes, these are contract made by Holosun. But they're made to a Sig design and spec, and receive Sig quality control. QC issues are a key reason why a lot of Chinese optics are such a dodgy proposition - it all depends on whether you got one that was well made, or slapped together by the overtime monkeys. With western corporate oversight, you avoid the notoriously lax QC that Chinese manufacturers are known for (think iPhone - made in China by Foxconn, with some hard @ssed California corporate overlords standing at the end of the production line with microscopes to check over everything).
