Looking for recommendations. Muzzle brake for Tikka T3x Arctic .308

I own this rifle and I want to put a muzzle brake on. The end of the barrel is already threaded for the iron sight that I will remove.

Any feedback or advice from Tikka T3x owners ?

I don't have any personal experience on this one myself, but I do have a lightweight Tikka T3x and have been considering this one. Its called the APA Answer muzzle brake. I really like what I see and read about it. Check out their video review youtube. I think it was called "Finding the best muzzle brake" or something to that effect.
 
Not being facetious or anything here - why would you want to put a muzzle brake, and exponentially increase the noise, on a very mild rifle to begin with?

Don't know if I'm one of the "chumps", but I was asking a legitimate question. I have been shooting 308 since I was 9 years old. I can't think of a reason to brake one, as they have very mild recoil, but the increased noise would be enough to not do it. I could see a brake on a 16" barreled 45-70, a 300 RUM, 338 Lapua, 375 H&H or RUM to name just a few, but not on something in the 243-308-7-08 class of rifle. WHat would one gain by that?
 
^^^doesn’t sound like a question....sounds like you already have an opinion. OP wants break....so get a break. He didn’t ask for opinions on whether or not he should get one.
 
You put put a brake on a 308 to moderate recoil, and a somebody might want to do that cause it’s a 308. I wouldn’t take the front sight off a t3 arctic and wouldn’t have mentioned it cause it’s not my business but as long as we are in this vein there you go

He can take all of the breaks he wants. The thread is about muzzle brakes.

I do have an opinion. So does the OP. I was asking to find out why his opinion is different from mine. There may be some very good reasons for braking a 308 that I did not know about. If one doesn't ask, how is one supposed to learn?????? We were not all born knowing everything. One of the reasons I absolutely love the 308 (and 6.5 X 55) is that it is a caliber that delivers excellent ballistics with very mild recoil and noise levels.

The high power silhouette champion uses a 6 br. There is no brakes allowed in that game, 40 shots over 4 distances out to 500 metres where the 6 br won’t reliably knock down the heavy steel rams yet the cartridge is a winner because of its low recoil. People are going to shoot better with less recoil.
 
I like a muzzle break on a 308. On my Tikka T3X CTR 24 inch, i have installed a Multi port 308/7.62 available from Colonel Mustard for around 60.00.

My rifle recoil on par with a 223/556.
 
Get one of the grizzly gun works noise redirector combos, have the benefits of a muzzle brake and not increase the noise for the shooter.
 
I have a 50 cal barret design brake from true north arms its actaully about 35 caliber. I had it on a 223. I could easily spot my hits and actaully see the bullets travel thru the scope with it. You will need ear protection with it. Even though its way over sized on a 223 it redirects a massive amount of air. No ports on the bottom either which is great for prone shooting. The looks are hellish and bad ass. They carry one threaded for 308 as well
I did end up swapping my brake for a fake can. My load still hits same poi at 100m so i can swap bake and forth for range use and for hunting
Im generally not a fan of brakes but some designs work well at reducing recoil. I chose one for a 16.5" barreled 223 because i wanted to keep the crosshairs on target while shooting live ammo to work on my follow thru. I generally shoot much heavier kicking rifles. I like the 223 because its loud and not much recoil. The brake makes it less or equal to a 22lr
True north arms carrys many brake designs and can rethread some. Prices are decent shipping is fast and flat rate

There are alot of youtube videos comparing various brakes. Some were posted to a thread i started in gunsmithing about oversized brakes
 
The best muzzle brake i ever had was the PWS PRC in .308.

Took of the front iron sight from my tikka arctic and ordered a stainless thread cap from stoeger
