I've just purchased a M98 action that's been rebarreled to .308. Barrel is just shy of 22". I'm looking for good glass in the 40 - 45mm range and have up to $800 to spend on it.

I've only ever owned Bushnell 3200's, so I don't really know what to look for in the upper end of the lower premium lineups. advice or things to consider, would be appreciated!

Have a look at the Zeiss Conquest lineup!

Exactly what we just put on our new Coopers! 3-9x40 Conquest, they are nice & @ $400 they were a BARGAIN!!! Zeiss just changed their lineup... We scored a couple of the old lineup...

Cheers

okay, so I've decided to go with a Swaro Z3 scope, debating the 42mm vs. the 50mm...only 2oz difference, so I'm thinking I'm 'not' really going to notice. with that in mind, who carries active stock of Swaro glass? Frontier Firearms had some, but they're all gone now, so not there.

that said, I also want light bases and rings. what would you recommend for me to consider? who makes a good lightweight kit? my M98 action is drilled and tapped, so I don't believe there's anything special it requires.

thank you all! :)

I`ve read that before, little wolf, but I`m not interested in anything that they currently carry. My heart is set on the Swaro Z3...just need to find someone that carries it, etc.

call prophet river for talley rings and basses. he makes some very nice stuff and it won't mark your scope up, as solid as any other ring and offers lightweight versions. nice choice of scope.

odd ball question. just talked to PR and they said they have what I`m looking for, but I need to tell them if I need Large Ring or Small Ring for the M98 action I have.

how do I find out what my rifle needs?
